Myanmar Traditional



The ten genres of Myanmar Arts and Crafts (pann: se myou) are: pann che (painting), pann Pu (carving-wood or ivory), pann dain (gold or silver smith), pann be (black smith), pann din (cast from bronze), pann put (turnery), pann jun (lacquer ware), pann do (stucco), pann tamo (sculpture) and pann jwee (lapidary).
Thanakha
Thanakha is a kind of tree, the bark and roots of which are used in making a fragrant paste for cosmetic purposes. It is ground into a paste on a flat stone and applied on the face and other parts of the body as a sun block. Thanaka cools and refreshes your skin and improves your complexion.
Myanmar Traditional Fashion
Myanmar has preserved the tradition of their simple native dress. They are used to wearing light casual wear almost all year round. It consists of a Myanmar coat or jacket ( taitpon), shirt and longyi for men and for ladies, a hta-me (similar to longyi) worn with a blouse. Velvet slippers are the traditional footwear.
Chinlone
Chinlones is a traditional Myanmar sport play with a cane ball (chinlone). Comprises five members either men or women, many styles and rules. Manoeuvring the cane ball to different style such as Phawa, Du, Gone Man, Salwel, Chay Gwin, Chay Pha, etc…..

National Museum of Myanmar


The National Museum of Myanmar was founded in 1952 once on Shwedagon Pagoda Road. In 1970 the museum was moved to a more spacious building on Pansodan Street. And then, it's moved to the present location which is on Pyay Road. The present National museum is five-storey Building. There are three halls on the ground floor, which display the evolution of the Myanmar script and alphabet the Lion Throne Room and Yatanapon Period pieces. There are four halls on the first floor, the royal regalia, exhibits of prehistoric times and exhibits on natural history.

Myanmar culture, Myanmar music, song and dance are exhibited on the second floor. The third floor consists of three exhibition halls two for Myanmar Painting and one for ancient ornaments and jewelry. There are halls for the Buddha Images on the fourth floor.

Royal Lion Throne is made of Yamane timber adorned with lions at its base. The whole throne is heavily gilded. The king uses this throne when deliberating with his ministers on state affairs.

The scenes of royal ceremonies of ancient Myanmar kings can be seen in the hall of the royal regalia on the first floor.

The stone weapons of the Neolithic Period and some bronze weapons of later era are also displayed. There are clay pots, urns, votive tablets and necklaces of the Pym Era also can be found in the hall of Myanmar history on the first floor.

The modes of transportation still in use some rural areas such as bullock cart are very light with streamlined prop orations. It is common to use such a cart at the pagoda festivals. It is worthier to make a tour of the museum because the guest will come away with greater understanding of Myanmar's history and its culture.

Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo (golden rock) - Bago - Thanlyin - Yangon

Detail Itinerary :

* Day 01. Arrive Yangon and sightseeing. O/N Yangon.
Arrive at Yangon International Airport and welcome by KST representative and our tour guide. On the way visit to Lawka Chanthar Arbayar Laba Muni Buddha Image (Kyauktawgyi) and Royal White Elephant camp. Check in to hotel and Yangon sightseeing; visit to Chaukhtatgyi (Reclining Buddha) Pagoda a colossal reclining Buddha, Karaweik Hall Royal barge on the Royal lake for photo stop, Yangon's city center featuring Sule Pagoda at city center and colonial building, drive in downtown visit China Town with the fruit market and Yangon's city center covering World famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Witness the golden dome light up sunshine at the sunset. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

* Day 02. Drive to Kyaikthiyo. O/N Kyaikthiyo.
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Kyaikthiyo, one of Myanmar's landmarks, this is famous for its precarious position and religious important. Kyaikthiyo the "Golden Rock", a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Arrive at the base camp of Kinpun and proceed to the Golden Rock by open truck about an hour mountain drive. Take a light trekking on the summit through bamboo forest. Enjoy sunset beauty on hill top and overnight at hotel in Kyaikhtiyo.

* Day 03. Kyaikthiyo - Yangon (via Bago sightseeing). O/N Yangon.
After breakfast at hotel, take a half hour walk to a small cave. Also stop at the roadside shops for rare product of jungle. Midmorning, drive down to the base camp and return to Yangon via Bago. Make a short visit of Bago town tour including Bago Local Market, Kanbawza Thardi Palace built by King Bayinnaung, Kalayani Sima (Ordination Hall), Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Shwethalyaung Pagoda, the world's most beautiful reclining Buddha and Wood Carving Industry. Drive back to Yangon. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

* Day 04. Thanlyin half-day sightseeing. Shopping & Departure.
After breakfast at hotel, half day trip to Thanlyin across Yangon River on Thanlyin Bridge. Thanlyin is home to two splendid pagodas; the Kyaikkauk Pagoda and Kyaikmawwin (Yele) Pagoda, situated on Island. Meet local people at the Kyauktan Market and then to Kyaikmawwin (Yele) Pagoda by boat. Then return to Yangon. Proceed to Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) Market where you can buy many souvenirs. And then transfer to airport for departure from Yangon.
